Orpen, Sir William, 1878-1931
[Cropped letter from William Orpen to Mrs St George with a sketch of the artist in strong wind]
Handwritten letter which Orpen sent to Mrs St George while on holiday in Howth with his family. The letter has been cropped to remove a large portion of the text. In the section that remains Orpen writes that the weather is too bad to 'carry a canvas out', which he illustrates in a sketch. The letter is continued on the reverse and includes a sketch of the artist dressed in costume.
