Two-page handwritten letter in which Blackwood expresses shock at the death of Thomas Foster and asks Crofton Croker to promote a volume of his work among the press. The author's name is difficult to decipher.

Maga was the name by which Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine, first published in October 1817, became affectionately known among editors, contributors and readers.
