Handwritten letter in which Orpen describes to Mrs St George his feelings of dispair towards Huddersfield. He illustrates this in a sketch on the reverse.

Presented by Mrs Vivien Graves to the National Gallery of Ireland in 1974.
This letter is one of the earliest in the collection. Orpen wrote this letter to Mrs St George while he was in Huddersfield painting the portrait 'Ms Lumb of Huddersfield' (1906) .
